Welcome to The Alternative View. TAV is committed to truth, as best that rare commodity can
be discovered, recognized, spoken and published. We believe that, in the regrettable state of
America's affairs, particularly in politics, power and government, the authorized, popular view is
often the one shaped through deceit, and only in some form of alternative view is the truth
likely to be found, if it can be found at all.
TAV is not some kind of lone paragon in this commitment. There are a number of alternative
voices abroad in this country, often seemingly very lonely voices, that not only insist things are
not right, but continue to proclaim what many of the wrong things are, and where many of the
sources of great betrayal are located. Truth, and the ceaseless quest for it, is not a noble
enterprise; it is an essential one.
We believe that secular truth, at its simplest and best, is most accurately expressed in the ideals
of original "conservatism", that genre of thought and belief that has for the far greater part been,
along with the Constitution, rejected by the American people. We also believe that secular truth
is, and must always be, subordinate to, and is indeed rooted in, transcendent spiritual truth as
given by the Supreme, Sovereign Creator in His word from Genesis to Revelation.
TAV believes that, particularly in times of great conspiracy and treachery, truth tends to become
condemned as cynicism. There is no doubt that in such times, and we are in such times, cynicism
can express a disturbingly accurate truth, and all such expression must be searched not for its
cynicism but for its truth.

County Government
Because of its unique characteristics of jurisdiction, county government has a correspondingly
unique role in recognizing and protecting the constitutional sovereignty of its citizens. County
government is, and must always be kept, accessible to its citizens. The higher the level of
government, the less this accessibility is true. As could well have been predicted almost from the
beginning, the United States Federal Government has become an entity unto itself, no longer a
government limited in power in the people's interest, but a bloated and dangerous socialist
oligarchy that increasingly considers the American people to be its enemy. The federal executive
branch has become an unconstitutional tyranny; the federal judiciary is no better, and in its
judges' agendas and activism may actually be worse; the federal congress, the constitutional
entity supposed to be the one most linked to, and protective of, the people's constitutional rights
and interests, has become a corrupt, self serving body of individuals who have abdicated their
sworn constitutional duties, and daily make an absolute mockery of their oath of office.
State government, particularly of the more rural states, has more opportunity and more overt will
to be responsive to the people within its jurisdiction. But state governments have traditionally
had a propensity to become captive to the more powerful interests within their borders, originally
the larger corporations, more recently environmentalist and other powerful self-interested groups,
and increasingly in any case the corrupting influence of the seemingly free-flowing money teat of
the corrupt federal government, understanding, of course, that the corrupting and unconstitutional
federal money never comes without corresponding unconstitutional federal control.
County government, over time, and because of its typical accessibility to those within its
jurisdiction, remains inevitably more responsive to the people than does state or federal
government. County government tends much more to be composed of the same people it
governs, and because of the people's accessibility to it remains much more afraid of and
responsive to those people. While state and federal money has a corrupting influence on county
government, that influence is mitigated by the people's close association with that county
government. A determined minority within a county can change the attitudes, intentions,
purposes and methods of its county government. County government has become America's Last
Best Hope.
Environmental
The environmental movement, powerful and well funded by individuals, organizations and foundations, is deeply rooted in socialist ideals. The people who thrive on this agenda find much of their power in the unconstitutional behaviors of the federal government. Knowingly and overtly oppressive, and not adverse to the use of terrorism as a means to accomplish their own ends, these people continue to claim a moral high ground through the use of flawed science, a hatred of private property ownership, the determined destruction of family farming and ranching and of all extractive industry, and a continual assault on private property rights.

Politics
We reject virtually all reliance on, and belief and trust in, Politics. Webster's Ninth New
Collegiate Dictionary, definition 3c, defines "politics" as: "political activities characterized
by artful and often dishonest practices". Webster's is a bit overly kind to the term, and
might better have said "political activities always characterized by artful and dishonest
practices". Politics, the world's oldest, dirtiest and deadliest profession, somehow manages to
always hide its blood-drenched accounts which have run through all human history.
The United States Constitution was probably man's best attempt to mitigate government abuse of
power, and to minimize the effectiveness of political deceit in the agendas of power and tyranny.
From at least 1860, and particularly through the entire twentieth century, we American people
have not only loved, and preferred, politics, politicians and the increasingly corrupting tyranny of
bigger and bigger government, but have turned our backs on the Constitution.
Politics could be a reasonable means of protecting legitimate interests. But when it spurns truth,
politics becomes the sanctuary of Marxism's most tragic and deadly maxim, "The end justifies
the means." When politics rejects truth, it becomes the antithesis of truth. When politics
disdains truth, it becomes the enemy of truth.
